| 04/07/08 Daimon Brunton Quartet wants you to hear their favourite things! |
My Favourite Things is the hotly anticipated third release from the popular Melbourne jazz group, The Daimon Brunton Quartet.
The album begins with a piano accordion styled Parisian waltz and concludes with a soulful, New Orleans Bourbon Street parade. In between listeners are taken on a world journey with stops at some bass-popping funk and Arabesque trumpet solos. The title track is Daimon's reharmonisation of the tune Coltrane made popular in jazz circles, featuring none other than the organ at Melbourne's own St Francis' church. “Needless to say it's a very, very big sound,” comments Daimon.
Daimon Brunton Quartet will be launching their new album at 9pm on the 19th of JULY at the PARIS CAT JAZZ CLUB, $12/$10.

Birei Lagrene’s Gipsy Project has shocked and thrilled jazz and guitar enthusiasts all over the world for over 5 years – with no sign of slowing down! | LONGSTAFF, Rob THEY CAN’T HELP YOU WITH THE LADIES |
 |
This is the second studio album for this outstanding young musician.
The title track is a commentary on the all consuming video game culture, whilst the other songs touch on subjects as diverse as the humble art of letter writing, stress relief, pop music and of course, love.

| SWEET LOWDOWNS CUTTIN’ CAPERS |
 |
Imagine Lester Young and Billie Holiday travelling to Paris and jamming with a stripped down “hot-club” style rhythm section. Or Mildred Bailey sitting in with Edmond Hall - Charlie Christian on acoustic guitar. This may give an idea of the influences, but the music is truly the result of the harmonious balance of the personalities that comprise it. |
| ANDY VANCE QUARTET JESU JOY OF MANS DESIRING |

Michael's releases thus far have highlighted his prolific song writing. This album is probably the closest you'll get to him and his live sound on stage. |
