Pat Thompson

'Madam' Pat Thompson was born in 1923 in Victoria, Australia. She is the oldest Australian performing jazz singer and is much admired by her audiences for her warmth, wit and performance skills. Pat has been described as "A true, authentic torch singer. A vivacious chanteuse whose style is reminiscent of the pre-jazz tradition of Lizzie Miles and Sophie Tucker." Her singing comes entirely from herself, without shame or pretension. Her vitality and presence on stage have won her critical acclaim at home and abroad.

On this album she is accompanied by David Bates (piano/vocal), Jiri Kripac (cornet/vocal), Roger Kennedy (drums) and special guests Nicky Parrot (bass), Dafydd Ellix (reeds), John Twigdon (bass) and Cal Duffy (drums).
